Hastings Shoes
Built in 1865, the Hastings Shoe store is one of the oldest buildings in Downtown Austin. Renovations began in the summer of 2008 but structural issues slowed the project early on. A new south wall needed to be built to save the building. A new storefront, new windows and masonry repair was also done. The building may have been updated but the business continues to be one of downtown Austin's longest operating retail stores.
